Click on the Settings Button on the Main Canventory Toolbar.
Click on the Backup/Restore button on the bottom left.
The Backup / Restore Dialog opens up...
To back up your database, click on the ellipse button beside the 'Backup Files To' prompt. This will bring up the Browse For Folder Dialog.
Choose a folder to have the backup file created in and click the 'OK' button.
Click on the 'Create Backup' button...
Once the backup is complete, you will receive the following confirmation message...
To Restore a backed up database, click on the ellipse button beside the 'Restore From' prompt.
Navigate to the folder that contains your backup in the Browse For Folder Dialog and click 'OK'.
Decide whether you want to use the custom settings from the database you are currently using or the one you are restoring.
If you want to use the settings from the database you are currently using, then keep the 'Do not overwrite my custom settings file' checkbox selected.
If you want to use the settings from the database you are restoring, then unselect the checkbox.
Click on the 'Perform Restore' button.
You will be asked to confirm that you want to overwrite your current database with the one you are restoring from.
You will then receive a message telling you that you must Restart Canventory for you Restore to Complete.
Click 'OK' on this message and then Exit Canventory.
The next time you open Canventory, you will receive a message telling you that your restore is complete.
